Rajeesh Menon is a sociotech entrepreneur and FOSS advocate with experience of designing and implementing digital infrastructure, societal transformation, and techno-legal missions globally. He is passionate about implementing public sector missions for livelihoods in the Global South and is also an investor and mentor for early-stage socio-tech ventures. He has extensive work experience executing digital transformation efforts in India, USA, UK, Brazil, Philippines, Cambodia, South Africa, UAE, Kenya, and Ethiopia.

Rajeesh is passionate about enabling & establishing social enterprises to spur the growth of decentralized micro-entrepreneurial ecosystems and digital cooperative structures in the Global South. He has been an advisor to Governments and Market-ecosystems in conceptualizing and incubating FOSS-based DPI infrastructures in the social livelihoods segments and climate-action networks. He has also enabled multiple DPI-Open Transaction Network (OTN) missions in India and globally across sectors, nurtured local techno-policy communities, and co-designed diverse funding portfolios. He had founded multiple national/global OTN coalitions in sectors like Tourism-Travel, Public Health, Agriculture-Biodiversity and Skills-Education.

Rajeesh’s skill portfolio spans equitably across strategy-policy advisory for public sector implementations, as well as product management-engineering interventions for partners. He has extensive implementation experience in public health & life sciences, social protection & benefits delivery, eID and financial inclusion, agriculture and biodiversity, and education- digital upskilling programs. He also led the design of several multi-sector DPGs and FOSS products used in multiple global DPI efforts, and been a key contributor-working group member of several standard definition organizations (incl. HL7, X12, IHE, W3C-VC-1.0). He has also co-authored multiple publications with WEF, WBG, WHO, ADB on subjects spanning across eID, health informatics, social protection and FOSS DPGs-standards.
